BGreater Shoes – Sustainable Barefoot Shoes for Children

We all wear shoes, but not everyone is aware that unfortunately, the footwear industry is notoriously unsustainable. Therefore, when we launched our new shoe brand, which is trying to shake things up …. we thought we’d shake up the sustainability as well! Our brand, designs and manufactures shoes, shaped like feet, so that your children don’t end up with feet shaped like shoes! Why is it that after a hard days work, it feels so good to take your shoes off and wiggle your toes? Why not wear shoes in which you can wiggle your toes in? We’ve had customers complaining, jokingly, that their children now won’t wear any other shoes.

Sustainability is hugely important to us, particularly because we are making products for young people who will be impacted by today’s decisions about sustainability. There are a few existing eco-friendly shoe brands however, their products come with a huge price-tag. To make barefoot shoes more affordable and sustainable, we’ve thought outside the box! We invite our customers to return their old shoes to us for free. We then grind off the tread and glue on a new one. These shoes will then be donated to the charity Sal’s Shoe, which donates shoes to those in need, both in the UK and overseas. So, although some brands might be made of more sustainable materials, we hope that the total lifespan of our shoes will be far longer and subsequently more sustainable.

Not only are we donating used shoes to charity, we also provide a facility to donate to Sal’s Shoes during checkout. These donations will go towards providing brand-new shoes, at cost price, for children that need them. This way we build a community which ensures that underprivileged children have shoes on their feet.

Iain Moore founder, of BGreater makes barefoot shoes for growing feet, providing a natural, thinner, more flexible sole, so that feet can move and develop as they were meant to. The brands ethos regarding both affordability and sustainability really strikes a cultural chord with Uniformerly and stands for everything we’re striving to achieve. A brand that’s really walking places! #NoChildShouldGoWithoutShoes
